Professional Loss Adjusters

Now You Know, pt.1

We’ve collected the questions we get asked most and put together a 3-part series to answer them.

What is a Public Adjuster?

A Public Insurance Adjuster follows a well-defined code of ethics established by the National Association of Public Insurance Adjusters (NAPIA). NAPIA members participate in the association for professional education, obtaining certification, and adhering to the association’s code of professional conduct and ethics.

How can an accredited licensed Public Adjuster help me?

We are proactive defenders of your interests. We have the expertise and experience required to research, document, and negotiate a claim based upon all of the damage and costs associated with your loss. There is a lot of work involved in building a complete, well-documented claim; we do this work for you, and we are the best in the business.

Will you help me receive a more prompt and satisfactory settlement?

Yes. We comply with your insurance policy requirements to quickly collect and evaluate the facts and prepare the claim. Our highly trained team does extensive research, preserving evidence that might otherwise have been overlooked or destroyed. The more thoroughly and completely your claim is compiled and prepared, the faster we can accomplish an equitable and proper settlement for you.

Once a policyholder has worked with and enjoyed the benefits of hiring an accredited public insurance adjuster, they wouldn’t think of trying to settle a claim any other way. Our most frequent sources of new clients are the recommendations from those we have previously served.

Why do I need help in filing an insurance claim?

The typical insurance policy contains hundreds of provisions and stipulations — various forms and riders that are constantly changing – and many complex details about your requirements in case of an insurance loss. Most people do not know or understand policy provisions and most do not realize that the burden of proof is on them, the policyholder. Most insurance company representatives actually prefer to work with an experienced Public Adjuster rather than an inexperienced insured. A Public Adjuster not only has your confidence, but also that of company adjusters who recognize that they are dealing with a professional.

Working with us means you don’t have to learn a new language – the language of an insurance policy.

Are Public Adjusters connected with insurance companies?

No. They are employed exclusively by you—the policyholder—not by an insurance company. However, many of our Public Adjusters are former employees of insurance companies. They understand how to read and interpret insurance policies and know the ins and outs of how the claims process works.

Can I prepare my own claim?

Sure, but keep in mind that our accredited licensed Public Adjusters, who have years of experience and training, can handle your insurance claim with more competence and speed. We know exactly what to do and when to do it. More specifically, we will assist you in the preparation of inventories, estimates and other factual proofs of loss. We handle all the necessary details for compiling and filing claims, as required by the terms of your insurance policy. We will also confer, on your behalf, with insurance company representatives and handle all matters essential to a proper and satisfactory adjustment. Many homeowners and business owners who have tried to settle their own claims have ultimately come to us because they find themselves in the weeds—going around and around with their insurance company and experiencing delays. We know how to deal with this and how to cut through the insurance company’s red tape. Adjusting claims is our full-time job. It’s what we do, every day. Many of our clients have described feeling great relief in having someone else handle the time-consuming business of managing their claims. Working with us means you don’t have to learn a new language – the language of an insurance policy. You don’t have to take time from your everyday life to track down insurance adjusters, remediation companies or attend to the myriad other details that are part and parcel of adjusting an insurance claim. Hiring us means you can get back to the business of rebuilding your business or getting on with your life, confident that you have an expert team working on your behalf.
