Leonard Theran combines an extensive engineering background with over 40 years experience in adjusting property insurance claims for the policyholder.
Len joined the family firm of Theran & Theran Public Insurance Adjusters, Inc., Boston, Massachusetts in 1974 after working for seven years in the electronics industry. After working with Gordon & Gordon/Adjusters International for five years, Len became a founding member of Professional Loss Adjusters, Inc.
He has also been Product Manager of two high-tech companies, Vice President of a firm that manufactured computerized products for the printing industry, and President of a firm that manufactured industrial combustion systems for the forest products industry.
Len’s technical and business background gives him a unique perspective when adjusting industrial losses. Of particular value is his ability to understand and focus on business problems that result from a loss and utilize insurance benefits to help resolve them. As a result, he has handled many significant industrial, commercial, and building losses.
A past member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Public Insurance Adjusters, he is one of the top ten percent of the membership who have earned the Association’s Senior Professional Public Adjuster, S.P.P.A., designation. He is past-President of the Massachusetts Association of Public Insurance Adjusters.
Len is licensed in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Texas, Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Michigan, New Jersey, and Vermont.
He has given numerous speeches on insurance, mold, and adjusting to a wide variety of insurance related groups including agents, consultants, property managers, and risk managers as well as condo associations and civic organizations.
Len earned a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from Stanford University. He also attended Suffolk University Law School.
